Community Loan Center: A Local Alternative to Payday Lending

Host Organization: Community Action Partnership

Many low-income families are unable to obtain conventional credit and rely on payday and auto-title lenders for small loans that come with predatory interest rates. This webinar will look at an alternative, which is working in 13 markets across three states that allows local nonprofit organizations to serve as the lender for fairly priced payday loan alternative program that is both sustainable and scalable. To date the Community Loan Center has provided more than 31,000 loans and saved borrowers over $17 million compared to payday loans. The goal of this webinar is to highlight how your community action agency can bring the employer-based Community Loan Center to the communities you serve. This webinar is FREE but registration is required.

Organizational Sustainability: Building your Leadership Bench

This webinar will explore what it takes to develop a leadership bench within the agency to lay a foundation for succession. CCAP Exam Review

This webinar is FREE, but registration is required. The national CCAP certification examination is administered on the third Wednesday of June in various locations around the country to candidates who were successful in their CDF and ESP submissions. In this webinar you will learn how the exam is constructed, what kinds of questions are asked, and how best to prepare for the exam. Once you pass, you are nationally recognized as a Certified Community Action Professional (CCAP).
